Huh? What are you Rambling on about?

I paid $150 dollars for a poor quality (images, graphs, text, tables, explanations) book. If this book had not been required for my class which required we solve the random 10-30 questions at the end of each chapter I would have sent this book back. I have no doubt that James Burke is one smart guy from his publications online but I feel the publisher Marcel Dekker put out a poor quality product and asked a lot of money for it.
If you want a real high quality distribution book, then spend your money on Electric Power Distribution System Engineering by Turan Gonen.

This Book is More Valuable For the Working Engineer Than For Those Who are in Academia.

This is a very good book for working engineers, especially those working as distribution engineers in utilities. Many people who are in academia may not like this book because it is not about a lot of number crunching. However if you work in the utility industry as a distribution engineer, it has a wealth of important information. In fact if studied over time in conjunction with working, it could help a person become a well rounded guru in the field. Also this book was very helpful for me during the PE exam.

Adequate textbook, with errors.

As a power student, I wish to delve into this material with the confidence that the author isn't publishing a book that didn't make it completely through the editing process. There are decimal errors in the examples, and the questions at the end of the chapters assume you know more than the author. As an advanced power text, careful editing and clarity is a must.
